INVOLVEMENT
Eta Sigma Gamma, Alpha Lambda
Eta Sigma Gamma is a national health education honorary that elevates the standards of health education through professional development, teaching, research, advocacy, and service. The Alpha Lambda chapter at the University of Florida consists of over 50 members and has been awarded a Chapter of Excellence.
I began my involvement as a general member in 2020, but progressed to hold the role of Public Relations Officer for the 2021-2022 school year. As PRO I managed Alpha Lambda's social media platforms, led creative aspects of health events, and developed marketing materials. This past school year, I represented the Alpha Lambda Chapter at the National Health Education Case Study Competition where my team and I received second place. I created the concept for ESG's annual health education event, Sex in the Swamp (SITS). As chair of the SITS Marketing Team, I led the creative vision behind event logos, t-shirts, flyers, and slideshow presentations. Lastly, I designed various marketing items, such as stickers and sweaters, to promote member engagement.
I was recently elected as President of the Alpha Lambda chapter for the 2022-2023 school year. In this position, I plan to continue promoting member involvement through teaching events, research seminars, educational opportunities, and advocacy workshops.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Tri Delta is a sorority at the University of Florida associated with Panhellenic Council and National Panhellenic Council. Tri Delta is supported under the core pillars of philosophy, philanthropy, programs, and policies. In 1999, Tri Delta established a national partnership with St. Jude Children's Research hospital. I became an initiated member of the Alpha Psi chapter in the fall of 2018. During my membership I volunteered at numerous events supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. These include Tri Delta Spaghetti Night, Triple Play, and Delta Dodgeball. In 2019 our chapter led philanthropic fundraising efforts for Panhellenic Council by raising over $83,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Green Greeks
Green Greeks is a service organization focused on preserving the natural environment and promoting sustainable efforts within the Gainesville community. In the fall of 2018, I became a general member, where I participated in sustainable education events and ant-littering efforts. In the fall of 2019, I became Director of Marketing and Social Strategy. In this position I managed social media platforms promoting local sustainability events, organization fundraisers, and volunteer projects. Furthermore, I mobilized community clean-up events and collaborated with fellow organizations in promoting Gainesville's environmental health
